How to recreate a reel with your character

6 simple steps, about 3 minutes of your time.

  1. 1

    Create your free account

Sign up with email or Google. You get 1 free video.

  2. 2

    Choose a reference reel

    • Found it on Instagram? Paste the reel link on the New page to preview it, then save it from the Instagram app (Share or ••• → Download, or screen-record if Download is off) and upload the file. We don't download from Instagram.
    • Length 3–30 s (free video: up to 10 s). Trim it on your phone first.
    • One main person, face visible most of the time, not too far from the camera.
    • Avoid fast cuts, heavy filters, text covering the face and very dark clips.
    • Formats: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 100 MB.
  3. 3

    Choose your character photo

    • One character, front-facing, eyes and mouth clearly visible.
    • Face and upper body (for body motion), plain background, sharp and well lit.
    • A rough pose like the start of the reel gives the best match.
    • PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 10 MB.
  4. 4

    Check the analysis and settings

    • We show what we found: length, size, scenes, expressions, gestures, camera moves and dialogue.
    • Shape: 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, 1:1 square, or 16:9 landscape.
    • Motion: Low = face only · Balanced = face and body · High = face and body with stronger expressions.
    • Options shown greyed out (voice, captions, music) aren't available yet.
  5. 5

    Confirm rights and generate

Tick that you have the rights to both files (see the rules), press Generate, then keep the page open or come back later. The status updates by itself.

  6. 6

    Review, download, post

Watch the result and the glitch check. If it found problems, try a clearer character photo or a steadier clip. Download, label it as AI-made and credit the original creator.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to try
Video too long or too shortTrim the reference to 3–30 s on your phone and upload it again.
"Couldn't read the video"Re-export the clip as MP4 and try again.
Face not foundUse a closer, brighter clip where the face is visible most of the time.
Weird teeth or mouthUse a front-facing photo with the mouth closed or a clear smile, and set Motion to Balanced.
Stuck in the queueVideos are made one at a time. Try again later.
